Preserving Childhood Magic

The Folksy House

Whole-Child Education in Buffalo, NY

Welcome to The Folksy House, where arts and academics blend seamlessly in a home-like environment filled with warmth and care. Nestled in Clarence, just outside the City of Buffalo, we serve children from early childhood up to age 12. Our unique program is continuously inspired by some of the greatest philosophies in childhood education — Waldorf, Montessori, Place-Based Education, and Forest Schooling to name a few. Our community of dedicated educators focus on fostering the inherent potential within each child—body, soul, and spirit— nurturing the growth of the whole child.

Our Values

Our nurturing home away from home. Children enjoy an environment created just for them with scratch-cooking, nature-play, a gentle rhythm, and foundational flows that inspire their head, hands, and heart. Paired with our outdoor learning environment throughout all four seasons, children at Folksy thrive during the best, most magical parts of childhood. Programming available for children starting at age 2 1/2 through age 12.

Join Folksy Scouts

Folksy Scouts is a unique and immersive scouting program that stands apart by rooting itself in nature, seasonality, and hands-on learning. We welcome boys and girls ages 4-10 to gather weekly to complete 10 Foundations, each offering the opportunity to earn a patch upon completion.

Every Foundation is designed to teach lifelong skills through practical, hands-on experiences. In an age dominated by technology, Folksy Scouts focuses on the importance of using our hands and connecting with the world around us to cultivate resilience, creativity, and a deep appreciation for nature and community.
